God is Present in Zion
Revisiting the previous two devotional texts wherein the Lord reveal all that will be done for Zion, I thought to myself, “What more could anyone hope for?” First, to be comforted by the Lord and assured the pain, loss, and heart-ache you have endured is at an end. Second, to be fed by the Lord, receiving not only assurance that the hard times have past, but to receive provision… to receive refreshing and renewal, not only for yourself and your household, but to witness the same for your neighbors and community. Then to realize that this is not a momentary, transient donation of sorts, but a foretaste of the complete restoration GOD is working in your life. The words, “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—,” continue to resonate in my heart. And then the Lord reveals that there is a greater blessing yet in store for all of Zion saying,
28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
In other words, God says, “No one, no matter your age or social standing, be you male or female, not one of my children will be excluded from my blessings, the manifestation of my presence when I pour out my spirit on my people. ”So, I ask, “What more could you or I hope for?”
Let Us Pray
Lord God, I stand in awe of your blessings, your mercy, your promises, and your grace. It is amazing that such an Awesome God, cares so deeply for flawed, imperfect me. Thank you for choosing never to withdraw yourself from me. Help me to walk worthy of your unfailing love.
