PRAISE BREAK
As I sing, lifting-up the closing verses of Psalm 103, I am experiencing a bit of déjà vu. Like last Saturday, this is another full-circle moment. I am taken back to the start of this week to the psalm’s opening lines where David is caught up in unbridled praise. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul….” That which was a private praise party at the start, has evolved into a full-on celebration that is open to all. It is like when a business has a banner year: productivity is high, all the benchmarks have been exceeded; and the President, Chairman of the Board, the CEO/CFO are so elated, that they call every employee who has borne the work… everyone who has been about business, to take part in the blessing. Here, the psalmist says, “Come all you angels, hosts, ministers, and workers of the Lord!” All those who have been faithful in their calling, faithful in the work, faithful in managing the business of the Lord, come join in the celebration.
Today, we conclude this devotional week on a high note. Let Us bless the Lord, both through our unending praise and faithful stewardship of what has been placed under our care. For God has promised that those who are faithful in following through, will certainly go from labor to reward: they will certainly enter their master’s happiness. Let Us be joyful in service and ever committed to being about the business of the Lord.
